On this guided walk, you’ll: • Wander the farm’s scenic paths, discovering the layers of the landscape that make it thrive. • Learn to identify native and non-native plants, from edible wild herbs to untamed flora. • Gain insight into how the farm works, from sustainable practices to seasonal cycles. • Meet the resident farm animals, each with a role in the land’s balance. Farm Grounds Safety Guidelines When exploring the farm, especially in natural areas, please be mindful of the following: 1. Uneven Terrain: Watch out for fallen branches, tree roots, and hidden dips in the ground that may cause trips or stumbles. 2. Holes & Burrows: Certain areas may have small animal burrows or naturally occurring depressions in the soil—keep an eye on your footing. 3. Wildlife Awareness: The farm is home to many creatures, including deer, birds, and small mammals. Admire them from a distance and avoid sudden movements that may startle them. 4. Tick Safety: Just like any open space or parks ticks are present in grassy and wooded areas. Wear long sleeves and pants when walking through natural spaces, and check yourself afterward. Consider using insect repellent. 5. Bird Activity: Nesting birds may be protective of their territory. Be mindful when near trees or shrubs where they may be nesting. 6.Poisonous Plants: Some native plants may cause skin irritation upon contact. If unsure, avoid touching unfamiliar vegetation. 7. Weather Conditions: Muddy or wet ground may be slippery. Wear sturdy footwear suitable for changing terrain. 8. Livestock Interaction: If farm animals are present, respect their space. Some may be friendly, but sudden movements can cause distress. 9. Bee & Insect Awareness: Bees and other pollinators are essential for the farm’s ecosystem. Stay calm if they approach and avoid disturbing hives or nests. 10. Restricted Areas: Certain areas may be off-limits for safety or conservation reasons. Please follow designated pathways and posted signs. 11. Please refrain from bringing any synthetic or harmful chemicals or outside food for animals. We are all natural, closed system farm. All our animals are strictly on an organic diet. Our soil health and maintaining biosecurity is our number one priority. 12. Be mindful of your surroundings, as animals and equipments maybe in use. 13. We often take photos and/or videos of our farm visitors interacting with the animals, These photos may appear on our website, in published materials and/or on Instagram/facebook.
